The Symphony Orchestra has for many years been one of our most popular and successful courses. This year’s repertoire will centre around masterpieces from the 19th and 20th centuries and include both familiar and not so familiar works by Tchaikovsky, Nielsen, Glazunov, Delius and Walton.

The Symphony Orchestra is intended to meet the needs of music students and very experienced amateurs.  Repertoire from the list below will be chosen for the Summer School of Music’s final concert.

To ensure a place in the orchestra, it is advised that early application is made.

Tchaikovsky         The Tempest, Symphonic Fantasia after Shakespeare, Op.18

Nielsen                  Symphony No.1, Op.7

Glazunov              The Seasons, Op.67

Delius                   The Walk to the Paradise Garden

Walton                  Symphony No.1
